In high school I worked in the Audio-Visual Department of Roosevelt Jr. Sr. High School from 9th through 12th grades. In 1970 I received a full scholarship from M.I.T. in Massachusetts. When they sent me a letter more-or-less inferring that I needed to come for the summer so I could learn my way around campus I got insulted. Young & angry, “Pride and an empty sack” I turned down their offer and later decided on SUNY Farmingdale.

The SUNY University was close to home and offered in One Year: Audio-Visual Communications, Photo Technology [Completely Subsidized by Kodak], Graphic & Advertising Arts, Business Administration, Electrical, Engineering & Air Conditioning Technologies and Staging & Set Designs. This was a “Highly Accelerated” curriculum and a challenge I was up for.

I graduated in 1971 and immediately got hires becoming the youngest A/V Media Assistant Supervisor in SUNY history at age 18. I’ve never regretted my decision and I never looked back. In 1971 I went back to SUNY Farmingdale and took a two year program. Recreational Supervision which included: Theme Park & Resort Design & Management, Theater, Stage & Movie Production and Rehabilitation & Therapeutic Facility Design & Operational Management

As a graduate of SUNY Farmingdale State College, Farmingdale, N.Y. I have a degree AAS: Audio/ Visual Communications with a minor in Electrical Engineering. AAS: Recreational Theme Park Design. This highly accelerated college is the 3rd oldest State University in N.Y. with the longest running solar energy program in New York State.
ABOUT US
DANCEFANTASY Sound Lab

DANCEFANTASY was created after disbanding the band he was in for about three years by Robert H. English. He played the Bass Guitar and earned the nickname "Billy Blast-Off" because of his obsession for syncopated bass lines. Plus I was sporting a "Baddass" Kustom 150W Bass amplifier covered in rolled & pleated "Black Naughahide".
My mother worked for The League of Nations from 1946-48 and The United Nations from 1948-64. I am also a product of U.N.I.S.
[United Nations International School].
In 1977 while working as an outsourced DJ for a Long Island radio station WLIR FM 92.7 based in Garden City, N.Y. The salesman Frank Russell whohad been a mentor became a manager. Contract jobs were done at Lumberjacks later The Forbidden Forest, Old Westbury Country Club, The Engineers club, Swan Club, Crest hollow Country Club, Huntington Townhouse, Antun's of Long Island and Queens and the Cordon Bleu in Ridgewood Queens. Other venues: The Subway, Laces and Studio 109 Roller Rink on Long Island and a guest spot at Empire Roller Dome in Brooklyn.
Bringing in a rainbow of other DJ's Luke "Skywalker" Frey, Douglas Davenport & Donna Kearse a.k.a. "Double Dose" Frank took us with him when he moved to WKTU FM 92 in 1978. By 1979 due to it's progressive music format WKTU FM was the number 1# radio station in New York City.

In addition to performing for Mingo, Jones and Gilminot an Afro-American advertising firm, celebrating Johnny Allen's Birthday we also played for KPMG [Pete Marwick, Mitchell, Soo Kim Associates, Sweetwaters on Columbus Ave., Murtha DeSolo, & Firoi Advertising, Toninos Ristorante & Smith & Wollensky Steak house. That year culminated with us headlining the NYMRAD Convention held at The City Center in NYC for WKTU FM.
In 2003 DANCEFANTASY was re-organized to compose and produce Nu Dance Cinematic music for a wide variety of applications: Video Games, Deep Club & House Club, Commercials & Movie trailers, Corporate Training Films and Radio Plays. All Music is officially licensed by Sony Entertainment. Working with Robert Brave Eagle we have composed fourteen complete albums. All Music produced and edited by Robert Brave Eagle & Robert English DANCEFANTASY Sound Lab.

In 1975 I was given a great piece of advice I had played the bass guitar for about five years. All that time I played by ear, not bad considering the amount of work the band got. Arnet Leftenant [ax player forCameo] advised me to get music theory courses and get behind a sound board. SUNY Old Westbury was then a new stae university on Long Island and Ken McIntire [Jazz Drummer] was the Chairman of a brand new Music Program. Richard Harper was teaching Music Theory I & II.

So I made a trip out there to check it out. Class was Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 PM, I got permission from SUNY Farmingdale to arrive at a later time for work on those days. One of the most heated debates about theory happened when I brought a copy of the new release “AWB” [Average Whit Band]; recriminations about some Scottish & Irish guys stealing James Browns style were settled when I played their album. By the time it finished everybody was grooving and there was no question that white guys could play R&B and Soul.

For those of you who were too young or too lame to ever experience DANCEFANTASY up close-and-personal her is an animated look at one of the most loved….and most hated cartoon. characters
The headliner was Maxi Priest. There was a Clint black concert the same weekend at Point Park so I pulled two days work engineering a sound board on the back stage.

On the back stage were The Flow Band, Reggae Bus Crew, two African Dance Troupes and Jambali Afrika [Fresh from Kenya]. All things considered the back stage finished in time for me to get up close for the Maxi Priest concert. During the two days there was Salsa Bands, Dancers and all the Caribbean & Hispanic food you could eat. Awesome!

This was a complicated set-up that required laying a floating plastic floor over their football field from 20 yard line to 20 yard line. This was over some very expensive Astro-Turf . It took almost two whole days to seat the floor, set up sound and another three days placing all the chairs.

The sound towers had flying bridges to raise the speakers to the right height and then wind screen was hung, and all the stages including the camera and back of the house stage was dressed in Green outdoor grass-like carpet.

During the same year I also worked for Bruce & Bruce Stage Scenery, NYC doing commercials. Most notably the 1986 Max Headroom Coca-Cola commercials. These were the All Time Top Grossing commercials for Coca-Cola since the "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing" Coca-Cola commercials of the 70's.
Bestek Theatrical in Babylon, N.Y. gave me my first job in staging & lighting industry in 1976. 20+ years later I was still working for major fashion designers through Ken Longert Productions in New York City.
In 1977 I accepted an grant offer by Nassau County at the Feidel School. They wanted someone to teach photography to gifted children in 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades. The second part was to photo document their new education techniques.

My first meeting with the Feidels was eventful in that they accquest to let me purchase better developing equipment  and a 200-400 telephoto lens [the latter I would keep].

My first day of classes I was challenged by a third grader who questioned my abilities. By the summer I had proved them wrong.
In 2007 I was invited to the 9th Annual Native Music Awards being held at the Seneca-Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls. There were many Native musicians there and I got to meet an awesome flutist named Evran Ozan.  This 5 time Native Award recipient is one of the most humble musicians I've ever met. He imparted a new CD entitled "Alluvia"
Moving back down to the Pittsburgh area in 2008 to help a relative I picked up four days staging & lighting working for J.V. Chujko Tents & Events, Pittsburgh, Pa. for the 2009 Carnegie Mellon University Graduation.
While in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania I answered the phone and got a cold call to engineer the back stage at the “One World Festival” for Hollowood Sound & Lights.
I took another grant job in 1983 to help upgrade the A/V Department at Hunter College in NYC. I was to manage the services, do repairs and assist with the purchasing of new equipment. My first day was a total shock, the Director Ray Nutkis brought me into his office and for 60 minutes berated “that I was not the person he wanted working there, that I was hired by the board and that he would have to work with me; like-it-or-not”.  Then he handed me a split schedule of three days and two nights.

The next day I brought in my two Ampex CCTV monitors, fixed two broken 60’s Sony cameras and mounted them at both doorways, one to keep an eye on him, the other to see the back doorway for customers and monitor the student aides. The year went quickly I asked not to be re-instated.

I was still working at SUNY Farmingdale alternating day to night,  While still at SUNY I helped WATC AM get their low power FM license in 1983 as a “Special Consultant” and continued working with the station for another year. I resigned my position at SUNY Farmingdale in 1984.

After leaving Hunter [1984] I took a job, during the day at Spaqtaros A/V Workshop a commercial Audio Visual rental service in NYC. This operation also supplied A/V equipment to hotels, conventions and created training films. They were the first A/V service to rent AVL Labratories “Eagle” computers with slide projectors [producing full 30fps motion] and Pioneer Video Walls. AVL created the concept of motion from still images which were controlled by “Eagle I” or Eagle II” computers. At that time Video Walls were still new and Spataro’s Workshop was on the A/V cutting edge. I was determined to be on that edge too.

AVL History: In 1973 Trans-Lux got into the multi-media business developing a $1 million dollar budget to create an interactive, theatrical and virtual tour of NYC called “The New York Experience”. AVL Eagle Computers were at the heart of the production, controlling simultaneously 45 slide projectors and panoramic motion picture projectors. There were 16 screens, dropping props, fireworks, smells of food, exhaust, smoke and all the sounds of NYC rolled into a multi-media extravaganza. It became the longest running commercial multi-media show in history. I took my favorite Aunt Dorothy, she passed away not to long afterward; But on that day you could see the excitement in her eyes, a show she would never forget. I left Spataros Workshop when my favorite aunt died in Pennsylvania in late summer 1984.
I went to work under contract briefly for Bob See owner of See Factor Sound & Lights, NYC for the New York City Bi-Centennial. For the most part it was testing electrical cables, setting up the light trusses and checking the PD [Power Distribution] racks as well as stage preparation.
POWER TOYS
BBC History: Max Headroom [Matt Freuer] was a very popular BBC television show about an investigative reporter that dug up dirt [“Eye on New York”, “Al Voughters On Your Side” & “Jaraldo Rivera”] only in this future world scenario the government controlled all media and put a contract on Max’s life. He got killed trying to escape by driving his motorcycle wrong way and a closed bridge chain decapitated him. Because he was so popular on TV the “Network” ratings and all they connected his severed head to a computer and kept him alive to continue his show; with the usual minor glitches whenever he tried to reveal his murders. This show came to the U.S. in late 70’s and aired in syndication for three seasons.
Also in 1986 I contracted out as a loading technician using my AP weights & measures experience working for Next Weekend Productions, NY-NJ. I was on the airport crew to Sound & lighting equipment on 108 X 88 pallets for air transport at Evegreen Cargo Bldg 149 at J.F.K. airport.
This was for both Genesis World Tour the Madonna World Tour. The shows played at the Meadowlands ArenaSecaucusN.J. Equipment was palletized and secured then weighed for loading onto cargo 747 aircraft for shipment. The total loading time for Genesis’s was 14 hours and for Madonna 12 hours.
JV Chujko Events Stage & Sound was also providing tents, sound and lights for the Pittsburgh 250th Anniversary Celebration which also included a bike marathon that followed the Forbes Trail from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh. Sponsored in part by Highmark Blue Cross & Blue Shield, UPMC Medical Centers & the City of Pittsburgh this was a whole week of racing that culminated with the last two days of June 28th & 29th.

The marathon on the 28th was held on the Southside of Pittsburgh that ended with a horrific thunderstorm. On the 29th the downtown Pittsburgh race started off great only to be halted twice. First by a thunder shower, then by a mega bike crash on Grant Street [which is all Cobblestone]. After the third re-start the race completed with some fierce biker competition to regain their lead and win the race.
On July 4th weekend in 2010 I went to the “Pittsburgh Regatta” for the second time. This is an event that brings people to see fantastic speed boat races. In addition to these festivities you have gift shops, international foods and the Pittsburgh “All-Time-Favorites” Iron City BeerYuengling and my favorite American beer Rolling Rock.
Pittsburgh is known for it's sports teams The Pirates, The "Ice Cold Penguins" and the 'Mighty Steelers". But there is nothing like the "Pittsburgh Regatta", speed boat racing, good food, crazy people and this year the "Red Bull DJ's" laid it down. Every July 4th Weekend this festival of people shows up and "IT's PARTTTY TIME" all over town.

Filmed with a Canon SureShot S1 I picked up used at an exceptional price and what's so cool about this camera is it has interchangeable lenses.
On September 11, 2012 I took off from doing medical deliveries to attend the 10th Anniversary of Flight 93 crash in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. I don’t have to tell you that there was more security than I’ve seen at any military base.

Entering there were at least six vehicles scanning every car, truck or van entering this memorial park. Security was to say the least overkill and heightened security protocols were in full effect; snipers, dogs, metal detectors, hand scanners, identification checks, photo surveillance, spotters and helicopters [high altitude cameras] the works:

The view of the area was breathtaking. The families of “Flight 93” and the farmers from the area purchased the land with their own money and created one of the most awe inspiring memorials to slain Americans since the “Black Wall” for the Vietnam Veterans and their POW’s. They donated it to the state to manage and run as a living memorial for those brave Americans.
Some of the distinguished guests included who’s who of Pennsylvania legislators; Former Presidents: jimmy Carter, George W. Bush & Bill Clinton and sitting Vice President Joe Beiden. Also Laura Bush and sitting Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were present. I’m sure buried within the crowd there were so many Secret Service if you sneezed you’d look like a sorry quarterback getting swarmed and sacked by the whole opposing football team.

Then there were bikers, farmers, law enforcement, military, firemen and women, EMS men and women and their families along with the families of the victims of “Flight 93”. To all who have ever said “Let’s Roll” and stood up in the face of insurmountable odds my thanks and gratitude.
WE SALUTE
ALL THE FALLEN
FROM 9/11!
Featured at Seneca-Niagara Casino, Niagara Falls, New York July 2015 the “Double Sky Wheel” featuring  Noe & Adilson España from five generations of “The Flying Españas” world famous trapeze group that toured with Ringling Bors. Barnum & Bailey circus for many years and members of his family.

MasterworX Entertainment LLC is headed by Noe España one of the most famous acrobats in show business.
Since then they have formed a number of companies and created quite a few show venues that are still wowing audiences of all ages and across the globe. The España brothers are the creators of the [Wheel of Death] “Double Sky Wheel”, “Sky Cycle” and the “Thunderdome” [Globe of Death]. Together with his brothers Ivan & Ramon they have made history and world records.
These acts are spectacular in death-defying form: Noe España jumping rope then walking blind folded to Adilson España walking on hands. All three stunts done on a moving “Double Sky Wheel” which by the way is powered only by the shear physical strength of both men.

Dizzy and Exhausting from a spectator point of view but simply awesome when you realize the strength, dedication and courage needed to perform these stunts three time each day from Wednesday through Sunday.  More shows Thunderdome Sky Cycle will run through August 28 2015
WELCOME TO THE THUNDERDOME!
The Thunderdome” featuring  Diego, Angelo, Ashley & Huber, more world famous members of the “Flying España Family” performing motorcycle tricks inside the “THUNDERDOME” a.k.a. “Globe of Death” through July 31st 2015.
What makes the Thunderdome special is its construction. To really appreciate this thrill you have to see it constructed. [Click Center photo above]
Once again MasterworX Entertainment never fails to amaze you with another one of their unique stunt performances.  Eric and Vivien España get this there’s no safety net for either performer. Featuring Eric and Vivien España is one of the weirdest things I’ve seen in a long time. Eric stands on top of his motorcycle in segment and then a hand stand later, while Vivien performs various acrobatic moves on the trapeze bar below.
Eric rides a modified Honda Rebel motorcycle on a high wire. Attached to it is a custom trapeze bar that the acrobat performs on. The catch is that they work together and each performing their own stunts. This is one time I really mean wish you were there.
In the last stunt they swing the whole assembly sideways twirling the entire trapeze and motorcycle 360 degrees three while hanging on.
Eric and Vivien España
Simply Awesome!
The last few SkyCycle shows featured Noe and his wife Vivien performing on a tightrpoe 40' to 45' in the air.

The angle is either 25 degrees or 20 degrees and again it's a custom Honda rebel motorcycle with a trapeze bar configuration. All without a safety net. Sinpley amazing!
I would like to personally thenk the Great Espana Family for their performances.        Live Long and Healthy!
